Cancer-stricken Dr. Willie Ong is praying for a miracle healing amid his fight for survival.
As he undergoes chemotherapy for his abdominal cancer, Ong has turned to the Lord for his recovery so he can do more to help fellow Filipinos.
“Until my last breath, I will help our poor Filipinos. But first, I ask God for a miracle. Please heal this 16 cm inoperable Sarcoma. Give me some more time on earth to prove myself. Amen,” he said in a Facebook post.
Ong, a former vice presidential candidate, announced his cancer diagnosis in a Facebook video over the weekend. Messages of support and sympathies have been pouring in for Ong, a social media star known for his health advice and medical missions.
In a Facebook post, Ong revealed that his doctors found “very big” and “aggressive” sarcoma nestled between his heart and spine.
Amid the outpouring of support, Ong extended his gratitude to everyone praying for his healing.
“My deepest thanks to the Filipino people. I can FEEL your love and concern even miles away. Thanks for ALL the kind thoughts. I love you all,” he said.
Despite the overwhelming challenge, Ong stands strong, ready to fight, but is also at peace with his fate.
He also acknowledged stress played a role in his condition, saying he was affected by online bashing he received from haters.
“If you can feel that the people around you love you, you want to go on and fight this challenge for them. But if you feel that people hate you, then what is the reason for going on?” He commented on Facebook.
