Lacson offers prayers as Doc Willie Ong battles cancer

Former Senator Panfilo Lacson has offered a message of support for the health and healing of Dr. Willie Ong, who is undergoing chemotherapy after a cancer diagnosis.

Lacson admitted he was saddened by Ong’s health condition and extended his prayers for his recovery.

“Sad. Prayers help. Prayers heal,” Lacson said in a social media post on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Ong announced his cancer diagnosis in a Facebook video over the weekend, saying doctors found a 16-centimeter sarcoma in his abdomen. The “very big” and “aggressive” tumor is hidden between his heart and spine, creating blockages including in his esophagus.

Ong, a cardiologist known for his health advice on social media as well as free medical missions, has drawn support and sympathies from the public following his cancer announcement.
